Thank you for your interest in the 2010 SEED Program at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah. Below is a list of positions available. If you are interested in applying for any of the positions listed below please complete our online application.

Assistant Camp Director (ACD)
The ACD will support the leadership and management of the SEED program. The ACD will also be responsible for sustaining the quality of daily operations. The ACD works with the administrative team to create a professional, exciting, creative and safe workplace. This will also include following all program policies and procedures aligned with the American Camp Association (ACA) standards. This role will require an independent thinker and experienced manager that understands how to manage residential camp programs. The ACD is a supervisory level position and will require close interaction with the staff to implement staff training processes and monitor staff performance. The ACD will supervise the camp operations in the absence of the Camp Director.

Office Manager (1)
The Office Manager will support the overall office operations of the SEED program. The Office Manager will be responsible for sustaining the quality and organization of daily office operations. The Office Manager works with the administrative team to create a professional, exciting, creative, functional and safe workplace. This will also include following all program policies and procedures aligned with the American Camp Association (ACA) standards. This role will require an independent thinker and experienced professional who understands how to manage a fast paced office.

Ceramics Specialist (1)
The position requires an individual with the ability to teach ceramics techniques in an outdoor environment. SEED creative arts activities provide an opportunity for the participants to learn specific arts skills. The Ceramics Specialist will maintain a safe and clean environment for all activities. The primary role of the Ceramics Specialist will be to organize and coordinate exciting arts activities that stimulate the participants' creativity. This requires an individual that has extensive experience and knowledge of ceramics.

Literacy Director (1)
The Literacy Director will work with Literacy Specialists to develop and implement the literacy component of the SEED program. The Literacy Director will also be responsible for reviewing the academic progress of the participants to determine the best strategy in working with the participants to enhance literacy skills. The Literacy Director work's with the literacy specialist team to create a professional, exciting, and innovative experiential learning environment for the participants to focus on reading, writing and creative expression.

Waterfront Director (1)
The Waterfront Director will work with a team of certified life guards to lead daily waterfront activities during SEED program. The Waterfront Director is primarily responsible for setting up the waterfront activity area and maintaining the safety of participants while engaged in waterfront activities. The Waterfront Director creates activities that are exciting, fun and safe for the participants. This will also include following program policies and procedures aligned with the American Camp Association (ACA) standards. This role will require certifications and extensive aquatic experience.

The Waterfront Director must understand the dynamics of working with inner-city/ urban youth as well as how to work in a residential camp setting. Many of the participants do not have exposure to the type of waterfront activities offered at Camp Oh-Neh-Tah. The Waterfront Director must design activities that will encourage the girls to overcome their fears. The position requires strong leadership and creativity. The Waterfront Director must act as a role model for program participants and staff demonstrating integrity, decisions based on principle, and hard work to fulfill the mission of the Girls Quest.

This position requires an individual with excellent interpersonal and water safety skills. The Waterfront Director lead the aquatics program including daily instructions, recreational swimming, and on site staff training.

Lead Counselors (3)
The Lead Counselor will work with a team to support the counseling staff during the SEED program. The Lead Counselor will also be responsible for working with the counseling staff to implement their daily activities for the participants. The Lead Counselor works with the counseling team to create a cohesive professional, exciting, creative and safe workplace. The Lead Counselor will function as an adviser to the counselors and monitor staff performance.

Counselors (25)
Counselors work with a Co-Counselor counselor to develop a "team" leadership approach during the SEED program. The Counselor will also be responsible for developing a positive rapport and mentoring relationship with the participants. The Counselor works with the counseling team to create a professional, exciting, fun and safe environment. Counselors are responsible for developing a cohesive cabin group always maintaining the health and safety of all participants.

Counselors will be responsible for making sure that the participants enjoy their experience and are fully engaged in all of the SEED program activities, special event days, and daily theme requirements. The Counselors also serve as mentor to the Teen Leaders involved program. This job requires an individual with a willingness to learn from and make use of their skills, character and personality to connect with the participants and their colleagues. The Counselor must have experience in working with urban issues, conflict resolution, diversity, and bullying among inner-city girls.
